The computer crushes by itself even when doing nothing. It is a 6 year old HPE 500F HP system. I have run the diagnostic test and all the parts seem ok. I think it is overheating but I leave it off for hours then I turn it on and it just crushes. Seems very odd. It overheats very easily. I have opened the case and blasted the dust with compressed air.

What fan the CPU fan, Than maybe the CPU thermal needs reapply. Or you may need to replace the heatsink. If you have box fan take off the side and run the fan on low. If it is overheating than the fan test will comfirm it. I did this once on one of mine years back it kept running till i shut off the box fan. This may or maybe not work for you.
How long does does run for? Check to see if any fans are not working in the case. CPU fan case fan graphics card fan. Does make any noises or just crash? Any BSOD which is a blue screen? It can be memory also. What i suggest is taking out a stick of ram and reboot as long as your have 2GB still installed it should boot fine maybe slower. See if it still crashes. Still does switch the ram sticks and reboot again. If it does not crash like it did than the ram possibly it the cause if the fan are running.

- It runs for a few minutes or seconds up to a an hour or more.
- The fans are working. The hardware test shows them working fine. But the air gets got even doing absolutely nothing, just staying in the login screen it gets hot.
- Sometimes it makes beeep-beep-beep-beep sounds after it has gone black for a while
- Sometimes it freezes and sometimes it crushes into crush dump blue screen
-The ram test comes out fine

if it is the ram it will be hard to detect it if is really random. that is why i suggested removing a stick of ram at a time than reboot see it it still happens for ram stick.

another test you con do is selective startup.this is a tool ost users do know of. which is bulit into windows. if a driver does not load correctly than that will be detected. to save me some typing i here is a link below to a how to use this tool. run the diagnostic startup and reboot withit active. follow the defaults till yu get to startup hide all microsoft services and unselect any 3 partry services. now ru the system like this and see if it crashes again. link below

All indications is that it is heat related. I turned it on after leaving off for 2 days and it froze within seconds. And the fan was going on like crazy
