Hp desktop won\'t boot

my tower on my hp desktop won't boot up. instead of the usual green light that comes on when you turn it on, it has a red light and just beeps. Nothing comes up on the monitor. Does anyone know what this is and how to get this stupid thing to work?

Go to the HP support web site and find the model number of your desktop. Then look at the troubleshooting guide. If you have the manual that came with the machine, the answer may be in the trouble shooting section of it.
