HP DV6700 pavillion sound problems

I keep losing my sound. On device manager there is no sound, video games option. On the speaker icon at the bottom there is a cross and says no audio output device is installed. I have reinstalled windows 7 again and I get back the sound but after a few days I have lost it again. I tried to reinstall the driver but to no avail.

Can anyone suggest anything.

Have you tried downloading the audio driver from HP ( http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html )?

Just found the solution. It was NVIDIA nForce AR Chipset HP driver that needed to be installed. Apparently that controls the built in sound device
