Would switching out the GTX 950 to something like the GTX 2060 make sense for this old of a computer, and would it work?

Spec's
i7-2600 3.4ghz
12gb ram, 1333 bus
512ssd
stock power supply
450watt cdrom power supply (only used for video cards)
Nvidia gtx 950

Solution
Okay. I'm not fully sure about that PSU juice box, but I would definitely recommend you to buy another PSU. Regarding the case, I think most of the cards will fit easily. Your current EVGA card is 10 inches, and it's a dual-slot GPU. Though, some of the RTX 2060 cards also come with a single fan cooling solution, or mini-ITX size/SFF, as shown below..

I have a separate power supply just for the video card. The OEM power supply does the rest like normal. I'm wondering how well it would perform in that system since the other parts while decent for the time are 7 years old or so.

Which other PSU do you have, apart form the OEM unit ? Also, if yours is a small form factor cabinet/SFF, then you need to change this as well, because some of the RTX GPUs are quite big in length/width. Some models might not even fit easily inside the the chassis, if there isn't enough room.

HP elites 8200 doesn't have a standard ATX connection, it's a proprietary connection to the MBD, so replacing the OEM power supply would mean having to mod it(another post in this forum mentions it) or replacing the MBD, from that might as well build a new PC. The Juice box solve's he power supply issue.

I guess it wasn't as much as will it work as much as would it be worth it. The earlier post has me thinking while would work, just might be time to thinking of a new PC.

Thank you.

How have you managed to get hands on one of these discontinued Power Bay (the VisionTech Power Juice PSU).. You know where to get one of these ?
