Thanks Lutfiji. Sorry I've update it to read 960.
Good point about the heat, yeah I don't think I'll go the 960 pro route with the heat and limited cooling ability.
My use case is more productivity, so booting up windows, *nix and starting, stopping software etc., I'll use virtual machine a lot which might be important?
Won't be gaming or video editing so fast copy speeds aren't important. I just want as fast as possible responsive machine. Already maxed out 32gb ram. CPU is 6th gen but I think upgrading CPU is out of my ability and too risky plus not sure practical.
Anyways, would the 2tb 970 EVO possibly be a better option for me? Less heat? And obviously cheaper which is nice. Maybe less reliable than 960 pro but still good enough.
The 2.5" bay already has a Samsung ssd in it. So only thing left to do now (which is worth it) is probably the m.2 purchase and use?
Then obviously in years to come will upgrade with a new machine but want to maximise this elitebook as much as possible which is PRACTICAL till end of life.
THANKS again for mentioning the heat, yeah that's a bad idea - probably NOT PRACTICAL for a thin laptop with limited cooling!
