HP Elitebook 8440p Webcam driver not working in windows7 64-bit

My windows 7 64 bit installation not detecting my webcam. Its showing an unknown device in USB section of device manager. I know its the webcam because if i turn my webcam off from bios that unknown device disappears. I have tried almost all drivers available at HP website

You need the HP Webcam Software for that laptop model.
It's not listed under the Drivers category. Go here:

Go here and select your Windows version: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=4095873&ac.admitted=1382117641728.876444892.492883150

From the "Download index", click the first "Software" link.
You should now see HP Webcam Software (International)

There are two versions, top one is the latest so try that first (1.0.26.3

Any problems with it, uninstall and try the older version (1.0.17.4

I tried this software and while installing, it crashes with an error "setup has determined that your configuration doesn't support any of the included product". I have made sure that camera is enabled from BIOS and a yellow unknown device icon is still present. Please help me as I am running out of ideas

I missed this driver first time round, maybe you did too?: HP Universal Camera Driver (International)

Go back to the page where you select your OS version:

Click on your Windows version (make sure you click 64-bit or 32-bit as appropriate).

In the "Download index" click "Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices"

The first driver in that category is "HP Universal Camera Driver (International)". Click "Download" for that item.

Install it.

After installing that driver, you may have to re-install the software item you installed yesterday HP Webcam Software (International) but I'm guessing there, just trying to cover all possible avenues of fixing your problem.

ali..... i had this issue recently.. but finally am able to correct it , now i can do snapshot with my webcamera. But i need to pay for this before getting it.If you are interested mail me......on my mail oluwafoj3@gmail.com
