I currently have Hp Elitebook 8460 I5 2nd generation 2.5ghz and now i want to switch to Hp Probook 430 G1 i5 4th generation 1.6ghz. Is it worth to switch because 430 G1 has less ghz than 8460
The speed the CPU runs on (base speed not "boost" speed) does not matter as much as the speed of the CPU.
I would not spend money going from your system to the 430 unless you just want to or there are issues with your system now. Now if you go a few more generations, say a 6th gen CPU, then it may be worth it.
