I bought a used HP Elitebook Folio 9480m... I've got the BIOS password.
1. I swapped in an SSD with Windows 10 that is working in my other laptop. The prior owner removed the original hd.
2. the Folio can see it in the BIOS, but it can't boot from it. I usually get that media failure/check cable error.
3. I've looked for cables to check in there - don't see any.
4. I've disconnected the CMOS for 24 hours and reconnected it. No joy.
5. Been through every BIOS setting and changed the boot order to mSata first and notebook HD second - didn't think it would help but wanted to do something. And I was right - it didn't help.
I see this issue a lot on the web with this model but I don't see solutions posted that appear to work. Any support is appreciated - I need a laptop for my job as a field tech STAT
