A GTX 1050 would run, but it would be cutting it very, very close, so I wouldn't recommend it. The GT 1030, as far as I know, is the best GPU that you can run with a 240W power supply. In the future, consider upgrading your PSU when you get your money, but for now, the GT 1030 will work on that power supply.

you have 2 issues.

1) case is very thin, if your able to find a 1050ti to run on your system you will need to make sure you get a "low profile" model, otherwise if will not physically fit in your case.
2) the 1050ti really needs a 300w PSU to be honest, but many people have use them anyways without issues, not that I am condoning this , as in the end its a risk where your psu dies and takes out other components of your system with it.

I have just realised that your PC is a pre-built by HP, and it's a very slim build, so PSU upgrades will be practically impossible.

The 1050/Ti would be pushing your power supply quite a bit, the requirements for the 1050 is that you have at least 17 amps on the 12v+ rail and 300W. Knowing these power supplies, I wouldn't put too much faith on it. The 1050 will not last as long on an OEM PSU, because it will likely not receive a stable power supply. You will need a low profile version of the card too, because of how thin the case is.

Depending on your budget, you can get a case and transfer the components, and upgrade to an ATX power supply.
