Hi everybody,

10 months ago i bought a HP Envy ep0080ng for quite a sum of money. In the last months it didn't feel like it is working properly. Finally I made some benchmark tests and must say I am quite shocked with the results.

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/46971867

I did a 3D mark test aswell which basically put the laptop under a office laptop with a result of 2523 points.

I did the Intel CPU test and the CPU never drew more than 21 Watts. It's TDP is 45 Watts. The temperature of the 8 cores never went higher then 51°C (123°F)

I talked to the HP support, the first level support said that the results are bad, but as a follow up he got opinion of a higher level and they weren't that phased with the results. He said he take the laptop in to check it, but if it doesn't or other stuff they'll say it's fine.
It's not crashing...

I find it pretty strange that 3 out of 4 tested components test so extremely low in the benchmark.

Where do I start troubleshooting? What can I do beforehand the HP support takes the laptop to improve chances of them taking it seriously.

Just check what power plan is your laptop using?
Press Windows Key, type Choose a power plan & press enter
It will show you all power plans available, & currently set might be HP Recommended Plan.
Its probably HP Recommended power plan, my HP laptop had it when it was new
(laptop used to be slow like crazy, everything was slow).
I change my laptop power plan to Balanced didn't had any issues & performance was a bit good.

You can set it to, Balanced IF YOU WANT TO, (try on your own risk)
But CPU temperature & power consumption will be a bit higher & battery backup might get a bit low, Windows will run a little better.
I do not know. This is the setting i bought it in. I dont understand why I would need Raid 0 for my use case, but it came like this from HP.

I just let Prime95 run for 20mins and the wattage never went above 21 Watts, although the TDP is 45 Watts. The Cores reached 55°C which absolutely should not activate thermal throttle.

Plugin. Tested couple of timed over the duration of the last week.

//edit

I let prime95 run for a good 50minutes now. 24 Watt used and 62°C. Any way I can increase the draw from the CPU? This doesn't seem right.
