I bought hp envy k214nx laptop. Wierd enough, i found under display in device manager both intel hd 5500 and nvidia gtx 850m
dxdiag lists Intel HD 5500 under display tab, steam detects the intel hd 5500 but the nvidia software is intalled and working fine and updates regularly. how's that? which vga do I really have? i'm kinda disappointed.

Hi there.

Your notebook has switchable graphics. This is controlled by the operating system and driver. To save power, and generate less heat, most of the time when performing functions that do not require a more advanced processor, you system will use the Intel HD 5500. When you load an application requiring more power, the system will switch to the gtx 850m.

Please look through the following, if you wish to know more about how this works.
