HP Envy M6-n010dx - New OS and neither wifi or ethernet will work

Not too long ago the hard drive in my laptop broke, so I purchased another one and installed it into the laptop and installed windows 7 from the disc. Since then the laptop will not connect to the internet through wifi or through the ethernet. I have tried downloading the drivers from another PC onto a USB stick and and manually installing them but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have any possible solutions or ways to troubleshoot I could try?

As the title says, the laptop is a HP Envy M6-n010dx

said it came with windows 8.1 not 7.

Would that mean it would not work with windows 7? At the moment it's literally only the internet that doesn't work and everything else is fine
