Specs:
- HP Envy X360 15-ds0013ca

  • Windows 10
  • AMD Ryzen 3700u
  • Crucial 2666 ddr4 32gb 16x2
CT16G4SFRA266
- Crucial P2 1TB PCIe gen3 M.2
CT1000P2SSD8

Problem:
the laptop restarts occupationally during normal use. it suddenly gives me a BSOD and tries to make dump file and it fails, so it restarts very quickly that i can not see the error
in the several times i was successful to see the error it sys "UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION".
everytime the laptop restarts i see these errors in the event viewer (last one is critical and the one before it is an error)

the critical:

what i tried:
1- fresh installation of windows and downloading drivers via windows update
2- fresh installation of windows and downloading drivers via HP
3- using HP cloud recovery software to download windows image that's customized and includes drivers that laptop shipped with
4- using HP cloud recovery software to download windows image and download amd drivers instead

none of that were successful and the problem persists
i tried pretty much everything i can think of. are there any way to specify which hardware part is causing the problem?
and how can i get logs about what was happening before the shut down since the windows is unable to create dump file i run an app that logs continuously?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

1| You're advised to manually source all relevant in their latest version off of HP's support site. Disconnect from the www when you're installing the OS to prevent the OS from downloading drivers it thinks is right for your platform. As for you bootable USB installer for your OS, where did you source the installer from?

2| What BIOS version are you on for your laptop? When installing drivers manually, you're advised to do so in this manner, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

3| What version of Windows 10 are you on? Right click start>System>the version for the OS should show up at the bottom of the newly popped up window.

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the late reply. It's been a full week of quizzes

I did several windows installations as follows
1- OS from microsoft and drivers from windows update
2- OS from microsoft and drivers from hp assistant
3- OS though hp cloud recovery (that includes all drivers) and drivers updated through windows update
4- OS though hp cloud recovery (that includes all drivers) and drivers updated through hp assistant

I tried pretty much every combination I can think of
  • updating drivers from microsoft
  • using HP assistant app to update
  • getting display driver from AMD, that's what I have now

my current bios version now(I updated it along the way) is F.22 (the latest bios)
I'm now using Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (build 19044.1387)
