I am looking to upgrade my laptop. I have an Hp g7-2243us laptop. I am looking to replace the AMD A8-4500m processor with an AMD A10-5750m. I have read up on this quite a bit and I believe it to be compatible, though there are people who would not recommend it. My question would be about upgrading my ram. On the AMD processor Wiki page it shows memory support for both of the processors. The 4500m says DDR3-1600 and the 5750m says DDR3-1866. I guess my question is if it would matter either way? Or am I looking at something wrong? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use both 1600MHz and 1866MHz with either processor. However, I believe that the 1866MHz would only run at 1600MHz on the AMD A8-4500m processor (may be able to overclock but that is not an issue I know much about).

The 1866MHz RAM is only likely to give an extremely small boost performance (1-2FPS). When choosing which RAM to buy I would go for whatever one was the cheapest.

8GB of Corsair Vengeance would do the trick but perhaps someone more knowledgable than myself could offer better guidance.
