Hello
I have probleem with
hp elitedesk 800 g1 , i just change psu and runing normal after many changes. The probleem right now , i just installed r9 280x , each time i turn pc on. Its restart for once before booting then runung normal in integrated graphics while r9 installed but not detected ,
r9 fan led work normal but not detected by MB .
I try to change setting on bios no result ....
I notice one things on other PC " intel h61 MB " with same psu runing normal , sapphire vapor-x radeon r9 280x LED light color blue , in HP case led white ! ...
Any help ......

Did you plug in the aux power required by your video card?
Is your PSU powerful enough? What model is it?

Sure 1x8 pin , 1x6pin
As it was running normal on other pc " intel h61 mb " with same psu , huntkey 550w , normal without any issue .

Reinstalling your AMD graphics drivers may fix your issue.

About psu , im sure not reason of this probleem
First i used the same PSU " this psu " on other for a months and no issue even i overclocking gpu on other pc .

About Driver , if motherboard not detect the card , driver will find it ?

Is there jumper on mb or bios update for kind issue ... ?

Companies like HP, Dell, etc can restrict what GPU's will work, this is built into their BIOS and nothing you can do about it. They claim its to prevent warranty claims. My guess is you have one of these unless you know others have done an upgrade using the same model gpu.

Yes Same gpu 280x msi , not sapphire , and i watch in youtube for elite 8300 - 6300 same mb sam bios model " not sure about ver "

System Requirement 750 Watt Power Supply. You have a 550 watt psu. See my above post with the requirements for that EXACT card from their website.

im runing this card for months 550w on other PC to be sure its not PSU
PC 1 which run sapphire r9 for 8 months:
I5 3470 3th G
16 gb hyperx 8X2 ddr3
2 tb hdd
480 gb ssd
DvD r/w
Intel dh61ww
sapphire r9 280x vapor x
4 fan in - out air flow
and some time Over clocked the card
Core clock 1070 to 1200 !!!
Memory clock 1550 to 1700 !!
Increase power to +50
increase memory & core voltage .
Without any issue i hit 135 FPS on ultra crysis 3 !


And hp desktop must be less power with:
I7 4th g
1tb hdd
Q87 mb
8 gb non hyper ram
No drive conected " dvd or any "
Case fan disconnected
sapphire r9 280x vapor x

And no overclock at all.

Also card startup with 90-120W and on load reach 250w , so if there power issue , will shutdown on load .
I belive there issue with M.B bios or power config ....

Ok, well that was a different computer. I like to make sure that I meet the maker's requirements before I waste my time other places. You could have a greater power draw on this machine than the other making this problem manifests. Try a 750 watt if all else fails. Good luck

ok i will , but first kindly back to my orginal post " each time i press power button must restart" , turned off then turned on automatically and booting normal !


Secound , this M.B from HP not 24pin ATX
And need cable rearrange , i did that as well only one things ,HP psu there Wire with 12V VSB and normal psu come with 5v VSB so i search google and read that i can replace 12v VSB with normal wire 12v "yellow " ... Is there relation between this and card power ?
