I have a HP P7 1228 PC with an I3 2100 CPU, 8 GB memory, IPISB-CU motherboard, Windows 7 64, and a 450 watt Antec power supply. The PC has a Geforce GT 240 video card which has gone bad. I purchased a Geforce GT 610 Zotac card and installed it in the PCI Express 16 slot. The computer woulfd turn on and the fan on the card would work, but the PC would not boot past the beginning blue HP logo screen. I was online with HP and Geforce techs for 4 days. We tried bios updating, reinstalling the card, many other solutions. The best information I got was the bios in the HP would only allow certain upgrades, but I could not get any of them to tell me which cards would work. I returned the card and got a replacement, same problem. I put the second card in a friend's dell and it worked fine. Can someone tell me if there is a way to fix the bios so the 610 will work, or show me what cards will work? Any help wouold be greatly appreciated.

Try Disabling Onboard Graphics And Only Use Dedicated Graphics ......Generally You Can Find These Settings In PCIe x16 Settings In BIOS....And Make Sure You Have Connected Your VGA/DVI/HDMI Cable Properly To Your GPU....

thats a bad gpu u should have bought atleast r7 240 if u want to game 😀 is ur gpu fans working if not then the gpu is not getting any electricity check the slot where u are installing it may be it is broken

The fan in the card works and I tried the card in a friend's dell pc and it works. I need to find a card that someone else has used in a P7 1228 that has worked. Thank you for helping.
