I run small startup computer business and I was wondering if using the built in hard drive check in the bios of HP computers is good enough. If not what program should I use?

Well, you have to consult with their customer support for more in-depth information regarding the tests. I can't really tell what they scan and check only judging by the titles, but I do think that those tests should be sufficient enough in order for you to be able to determine of the drive is faulty or not.
Most diagnostic tools feature quick/generic and long/extended (and whatever other names they might be called) tests. Usually the extended tests scan the drive sector by sector (which takes a really long time (of course, the larger the drive, the longer it takes)) in order to determine if there are bad sectors. :)
Hey there.

Not sure what type of storage device test is performed or if it's only SMART data. SMART data is good in order for you to have an idea of what's going on with the drive. However, whenever you're in doubt that there might be something wrong with a drive, I'd recommend that you use the specific drive manufacturer's diagnostic tool in order to run more in depth tests and see what might be wrong.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! Just one more thing, it says on HPs site that it does 2 tests. It does a quick test for the first one and a comprehensive test for the second one. Still good enough?
