Hp iq506 touchsmart dvd/cd drive not in device manager

I have an HP IQ506 touchsmart computer. The dvd/cd drive lets me put in a cd and lets me eject it, but it doesn't play. Also, the dvd/cd drive doesn't show in the Device Manager. I upgraded from Vista (64 Bit) to windows 7 and I think this may have caused the problem. However, I recovered my computer back to Vista and downloaded all of the updates for Vista. Everything else works just fine, except for the dvd/cd drive not showing in Device Manager.
Any help concerning this matter will be greatly appreciated.
