i'm sorry. i don't know why. But wife should be wifi. My mistake. God spare me. i don't need a women for ever
So situation: Wifi online with ics on it. wired nic got his fixed ip and subnet 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0 so far, so good. But as discribed above. My wifi nic disconnects from the moment i plug in the copper cable in the wired nic.
The pc connected to it get's a correct ip 192.168.0.20 & same subnet (dhcp and dns up and running)
So we are linked together but both pc's doesn't have internet anymore.
Disconnect copper cable. Wifi comes alive again ... So this ics method works fine for 2 copper nics. but not for wifi+copper. That's my problem.
You say XP can't have 2 nic's online @ the same time whitout ics. Think again. XP can! Same router, same switch.
different IP's from the same subnet. That is on copper wiring. Not copper + wifi. We have servers running XP with 2 nic's online. (i know not a good id) but it works. trust me.
So what i need is a way to explain XP not to disconnect wifi when i plug in the wired nic. It has something to do with saving energy .... But i can't find a way to force wifi online always. No disconnections for what reason it might find .... Any id's? I have a probook 6550b from HP.
On linux it might be a little bit more difficult but al distro's i tested CAN do this. No prob @ all.
Unfortunately i must use XP @ work. I would have chosen a different OS if it was up to me
Btw you can talk in ict terms to me. I will understand you. No need to explain in noob language
Thanks !!
