Question HP laptop keeps popping up the "Connect projector" pannel by itslef

My laptop keeps opening the "Connect to a projector" panel by itself, as if I am pressing the Win+P buttons on my keyboard.
This is very annoying and interrupts my work. I checked to see if I have the Win and P buttons stuck, but they were fine.
Occasionally the problem will cause change of screen resolution as well.
What could be causing this and how to fix it?

Model of my laptop is HP 15-ac005nu and my OS is Windows-7.

Thanks!

"WIN" + "P" allows users to control the monitor arrangements in a dual monitor environment. Simply "PROJECT" should be shown at the top of the selection menu.

Verify that you are indeed seeing "Connect to a projector".

If possible post the screen or window that is being presented.

Any recent software installations, software updates, or perhaps some driver update?

Open Task Manager and look in the Startup tab.

Could be some background app being launched, running, and looking for a projector.

Hi Ralston18, thanks for your reply.

I haven't done any software updates or driver updates. I cleaned all the junk from the Startup and I stopped all unnecessary processes in the Task Manager. Nothing worked.
The laptop still keeps popping that panel by itself.

I tried rolling the system back to an older Restore Point, but the oldest point that was offered was from a date that is newer than the date in which the problem appeared in. So it was kinda useless to do System Restore.

I am starting to think that this problem gotta be some hardware malfunction.

I was wrong.
The Win and P keys on my keyboard are messed up.
I don't know how to fix them. Thy are not physically "stuck". They just don't function properly.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
