HP laptop + Kingston SSD

I recently purchased a Kingston suv500ms/240g to replace the intel 310 series 80gb in my HP Envy 17-3290nr.

I did the clone process with a usb adapter. The problem is, when I replace the old intel80gb. The laptap stops at “press esc load startup” page.

I tried putting the intel back and using a 2.5 sata enclosure for the kingston in the spare hdd slot but still the same.

Also did the moving/swapping of cables. I tried just installing as a blank drive for files but all the same. I did hard resets. It’s only when I remove the kingston that everything is back to normal and it loads all the way into windows.

I did check before buying if the suv500ms/240g is compatible. It is

Anyone know a fix for this or experienced similar?

I did test the kingston in other laptops and it worked ok. No errors or getting stuck on the “press the esc key for startup menu”

When I do press ecs is displays “ESC... Pause Startup” and stays there.

Anyway, my laptop is a HP envy 17-3290nr
Intel i7 processor
12gb ddr3 ram
Intel m.sata ssd 80gb + seagate 1tb hdd (bay1) + empty (bay2)
*firmware is the latest from HP

The new ssd i want to install is a kingston suv500ms/240g (m.sata)
