Hello TH. My HP laptop model # HP 17-ca0014d. Last week I got a message when I turned it on. BIOS has detected that the capacity of the internal battery has been reduced. Primary (internal) Battery (601). Other than that its been working fine. I did a factory reset and it seemed to install correctly. Later I shut down the laptop and after that all that would show up is the hp screen and the progress wheel would just spin and never boot up. I googled the issue and it mentioned stuck in a "boot loop". I tried to do another fresh factory reset install around 85% i get a message that the factory reset cannot be done. I've tried all the trouble shooting and looked on google and YouTube. Since then I tried all the F11, F2, f9 boot to factory reset, and nothing, I do not have the original boot dics that came with the laptop. I would like to purchase them from HP and I will contact HP Tomorrow . Any help would-be great. THANKS

Remove the battery and run off the power supply ?
Batteries end life, they start losing the percent you keep charging (ex. 8hr. goes down to 6hr. of use).
But it seems you wrecked it by resetting while on a bad battery.
