HP Laptop performance issues - please help!

Hi guys,

My girlfriend purchased the following laptop a while back.
HP 15-af067sa
amd a8 7410 / 2.2ghz
8gb ram
2tb hdd
amd r5 graphics
windows 10

I understand that if you want performance in a laptop, prepare to pay. But this laptop is currently struggling to do the basics. Playing YouTube videos sometimes stutters (once allowing video to buffer), 2 incidents of complete system freezing needing restarting, very slow reaching windows from the HP splash screen and she also says it crashes during playing sims 3 on low settings.

I have run malwarebytes and avg and found nothing, I have followed a guide on disabling some background services to improve windows 10 performance and also increased page filing to the 8gb ram. I know installing an SSD would help with speed issues but im stumped on the performance issues?

What are the laptops temps? Are all power saving modes off?

Go in the task manager and check which column gets maxed out (CPU ,Memory, Disk) when it slows down .

temps are about 55-56 whilst on youtube,will check sims now. I've changed power settings to high performance for both battery and whilst plugged in.

during sims3 with spotify in the background got the following results in task manager

cpu - 60%
memory - 47%
disk - 3%

temps running between 64-65.

Temps are ok, did you intall all the drivers from the amd website ?
