Hi
You did`t mention what Windows you`r using ?

But no problem the fix is universal

Just follow the New Printer Setup Wizard
At the point you have to provide driver click on the "Pick from the list" and brows for the windows built in printers
Navigate to HP section
Choose any LJ XXXX printer
F.E. i choose HP LJ 2400
And finish the setup.

All HP LJ have quite the same engine and this allays work for me !

Thank you very much. I had a 12 year old HP Laser Jet 1200 series printer connected to a Windows 7 desktop on which I tried your tip and it works. At least, the test page prints fine. Looks like I should be able to print other documents too.
