HP LaserJet 5P

HP LaserJet 5P just started printing 1/8" thick black lines across every page at 3" intervals. Any suggestions?

Have a look at the manual or FAQs on HP website. Most such symptoms are pretty typical and readily explained in troubleshooting section.

Even Laserjet Fives have to die some time. I thought my Six was pretty old but it still soldiers on.

If you tried a new toner already, try a new fuser.
