Hp Mini 110 and Sims 1

Hello,
Sims 1 game starts up with odd green and purple hues. I can't get past the loading page. The game closes. Why the unusual colors and why can't I play? I run it in Win 95 compatibility mode. I tried every other compatibility modes and options but nothing seems to change.

Old games are not 100% compatible with Windows 7. It appears Sims 1 (and Sims 2) is one of those games.

According to the following video a person was able to play Sims 1 in Windows 7 by running the game in Windows XP (SP2) mode and "Run As Administrator". However, based on some people can't get the game to install.
