I have an HP s70 17 inch monitor (d7740). It came wiht the packaged system that i bought about 2 years ago. Now, i left the system on over night playing MP3s (with winamp, which i have done very often) and when i woke up in the morning the screen was all screwed up. Meaning the Horizontal size and pincushion were very strange. I tried to adjust the settings however they do nothing. I have tried to set it back to the factory setting which move the screen but don't change the size. I have tried changing the screen resolution and nothing. The screen is too wide, and can't display all of windows. Right now i am reduced to changing the Horizontal position every time i need see what time it is. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Unfortunately this is a common symptom of a failed component usually in the horizontal deflection circuit. Your monitor needs to be looked at by a service technician.

However it may cost more to fix than the unit is worth. Sorry.
