HP Netserver Symbios controller issue

Group;

I tried installing Red Hat Fedora Core 1 on above server. HP web site says
RH 6.x supported, that's it. When I try and install, the OS sees the hard
drives, plans on formatting, but then fails as it tries to load the image to
the drive, saying the drive must be full - remove some files and try again.
Of course the drives are clean.

Any suggestions?

RH 6.x? Replace the Symbios controller with an Adaptec or other better
supported SCSI host adapter. Which Symbios chip on which NetServer? Integrate
the older Linux modules for the Symbios chip into Fedora Core 1? Suse?
Mandrake?

My experience is that Linux usually burps and belches at new hardware.
Apparently the Red Hat folk may have dropped support for the Symbios chip, an
older one... Ben Myers

Hi Ben;

I was able to install Red Hat 7.3 on it. It's the same version I run on my
DEC Prioris XL PPro 200. Runs a lot faster than the 200 :)

Maybe I'll be able to do an upgrade to a newer version.
