[SOLVED] Hp oem motherboard backplate removal

Hey I just bought a noctua nhu12s and I want to know if the motherboard backplate is removable on my HP motherboard the model is Memphis2-s. Or if I can just mount the cooler without removing the backplate

Can you take a picture of the back of your motherboard? Couldn´t find one over the net.

It doesn’t have screws so I guess it riveted I’ll send the picture of the backplate when I get home

Hey it dosent let me post the picture but the motherboard name is Memphis2-s I couldn’t find a picture of it online either. But I just want to know if a noctua u12s will fit with the stock backplate

looks like it´s riveted. You will have to drill the rivets to remove the backplate

I don´t think the current backplate is compatible

Will drilling out the rivets damage the board because I don’t want to do that. In the picture someone else mounted a noctura there two.

if you drill carefully, there shouldn´t be a problem.

you can of course try it without removing the back plate 1st
this one used sheet metal screws to fixate the cooler of the Noctua NH-L9x65

I would rather remove it so I can use the original mounting hardware ware
