HP old Lazer Printers

I have an old HP LaserJet4100N printer. I love it but it will suddenly not print unless I completly shut down my computer, then when I restart the printer will print whatever is in the que. I'm a grandma so I'm limited in what I know. My IT son spent an hour trying to reinstall a driver for Vista64 and after doing it multiple times he shut down my computer, restarted and then installed the new driver. The printer worked fine for about an hour and once again will not print. Help please. Cheryl

I'd have you son check it out some more, hard to know what the issue is. Have him do a firmware upgrade on the printer, I have fixed several HP 4xxx models that way.
