Hello,
My AMD Radeon 7450 card recently failed and I got a Nvidia GT1030 that seems to have stuffed my whole computer up... I can't load Windows, only get to Splash screen and diagnostics/HP setup utility. HP does not seem to have a BIOS update and I don't know what to do. What cards would you advise or have you had success with, for a system like mine? Thanks so much :)

Solution
Please note that HP is horrible for this sort of thing, they almost seem to ignore these type of upgrade compatibility issues.

First, try to clear your CMOS and then boot, seems to have worked for this poster

Also, you don't specify which GT 1030 it is, some have a hybrid BIOS switch

For a BIOS update see this link, appears that there is a BIOS update for the motherboard but not the computer. Again, poor support. Using this would be my last option...

Solution
Thanks for your suggestion. I ended up getting a secondhand AMD 4350 card for $20 (I downgraded haha how awful), and now my computer works again, so it definitely was a compatibility issue. I don't have much experience with computers so I am scared of fiddling with CMOS and BIOS. I might just live with the old card for now. HP is really bad with support, you are right.
