Hp pavilion a819n Processor Upgrade

Can work with it.

To add another 400MHz

What other types of processors can I buy?

I heard of someone getting a core 2 duo is this possible?

The intel 915 chipset does not support core2duo!

Intel shows the 660 as a compatible CPU for the 915GV chipset:

And no, C2D is not supported at all. Some 775 boards could, the chipset limits it.

His computer specs show the Goldfish2 motherboard (in my link) not the Goldfish in yours. I know it is confusing they both show up as ASUS PTGD1-LA!

Leave it to HP! Either way, the 915 still supports most of the P4s and no C2Ds.

You'll have to find out if you have the Goldfish (915GV) or Goldfish2 (915G). The 915GV supports up to 3.8GHz, the 915G only 3.4GHz.

Apparently they made them with both boards so OP has to make sure which one he has!

Id a C2D is not possible what about a dual-core Pentium or a Pentium D or some other Pentium Or any other processor without upgrading the motherboard
