Hp pavilion dv4 boot boots to gray screen

I have a hp pavilion dv4 that starts to boot up then goes to start up repair which fails each time ending in a gray screen. Tried safe mode but will go back to gray screen. tried hard start no luck any idea what is wrong.

Anything out of the ordinary precede this issue ? How did you get into repair mode loop ?
