hp pavilion dv6 usb drivers

please i recently bought a hp pavilion dv6 laptop and all the usb ports aint working.
it detects the flash drives but sotfware installation unsuccessful

Have you checked the HP website (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html)? Can't give a direct link without knowing the exact model number of the computer. If the USB port is able to detect the flash drive(s) then the USB ports may not be the issue. Have you tried any other USB devices (such as mouse or external hard drive) on those ports? If yes, was the computer able to recognize those devices?
