Hp pavilion dv6000 not turning on

So I have been trying to turn on my laptop, but it wouldn't turn on. So I thought it was the power jack, so I bought one and hooked it up thinking it was going to work...it didn't. Now I am just thinking that it might be the motherboard, but I am not yet sure. I need your guys help, please.

Are you sure that's the problem for my laptop not wanting to charge/turn on?

That is not the only possibility. The possibilities vary from RAM failure & motherboard failure to a broken power switch.

The next step I would try is to reset the CMOS. Check your manual for instructions on your model.

I don't believe the power switch is broken because every time I press it it shows a little light on the bottom saying it needs to be charged
