So one day my computer starts screaming; found out it was the cpu cooling fan. Spayed a little teflon lubricant in it, turned it back on, and so far squeal free.
But in the meantime I ordered a replacement fan to swap. I got one of the same model # PVA080G12Q 12V .65A. What I got in the mail is a 4 wire fan vs 3, I tried it anyway, it spins fine but on starting the computer I get a CPU Fan error, shutting down. I can't even boot to bios to see if there is a setting to change.
Aside from the extra wire, the only difference I can see is the small # on the fan; mine is a -f03-ae the replacement is -P04-ae
Can I make this work, do I need another fan?
