I am looking at buying a laptop and was wondering if it would support gaming. I love Skyrim and heavily-modded Minecraft in particular. I really don't want to be limited to playing on low settings, and would like to eventually be able to play newer games, such as borderlands.

Processor: 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4510U Dual Core Processor

Video Graphics: 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 840M Graphics

Thank you all for the help!

maybe on high intensity games like battlefield 4 but I think you should be good at mid-high settings and get around 60-70 fps in most of the games you want to play. having the hybrid hdd is going to help
Dell inspiron 3542 suits to your requirements at a price of 600 euros, but the inspiron series use low-quality motheboards and coolers, so it won't be cool.

All laptos with i7 and not Intel GPU cost over 550.
You don't need i7's power, so you could also try an i5 lapto such as
Asus F552CL-SX016H, Asus F552LD-SX219H and HP 15-r017 sv.
Hope that was helpfull

I will definitely check those out! Thanks!

Thanks! I appreciate the help! I do have one more question. I am looking at another computer. It is the same except this processor: 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Quad Core Processor

and this graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 4600

Would this one be better because it has a quad core processor, or worse because it lack the NVIDIA GeForce graphics?

GeForce GT 820M is a little better than the GT 640. The GT640 i would run crysis 3 at medium with ~55fps if it was a DX11 GPU. I had HD Graphics 4600 and run NFS Most Wanted 2012 at low with 800x600 resolution with ~25 fps, so go for NVidia Graphics

wrong the I-series chips have the graphics on the cpu not the mobo
