HP Pavilion Laptop not connecting to any Wifi Network, please help!

Hi,

I have a HP Pavilion laptop using windows 8. I went to use the other day and it has suddenly stopped conencting or picking up any wifi networks, my own network or any neighbours, which gives me the impression its something wrong with my laptop and not my internet. Its like my wifi is disabled or is on airplane mode, but its not.

If anyone has any suggestions or any help that would be fab as I am currently a uni student studying for exams, and can only use the internet on my laptop from plugging my laptop into the ethernet cable which is a pain...

Make sure the wifi is switched on.

Try uninstalling, and reinstalling the wifi driver.

The wifi is often the first thing to go. Get a USB wifi adapter to bypass the issue.

Unfortunately I am at uni so I am on the wifi they provide... theres nothing wrong with that though as all my flatmates are connected to it via wifi. Would I still be able to reinstall the wifi driver?
(i'm not good with computers at all haha)

You would need to download the driver on a friend's computer to a USB flash drive, and then bring it to your computer to reinstall the wifi driver.

Windows 8 updated itself earlier and after this update my wifi is working correctly! Think the system was just out of date, thanks for your help

Not sure how your computer got updated with no internet connection, but glad it worked out!

I had no wifi connection, I still was able to use the internet with my laptop plugged in with an ethernet cable
