My question is whether this system will support 32 GB of RAM. The serial number is MX810809X1 and the Product number is QP686AAR#ABA The HP site says it only support 16 GB. However the Base Board Vendor is FOXCONN Base Board Model is 2AB1 the BIOS version is 6.04 (confirmed by ADATA SSD Toolbox and Piriform Speccy. I have this system triple booted with Mint, Ubuntu and Windows 10 has 16 GB memory and 1 HDD and 2 SSDs. I use this older system for running virtual machines and want to know if it is possible to upgrade to 32 GB. Maybe it is because the motherboard is Version 1.0 or maybe HP for whatever reason list 16 GB as max. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

Solution
HP Pavilion p6741c can support only 4x4GB max configuration

8GB sticks will not work on this motherboard regardless of the motherboard revision of the same model.
