HP Pavilion Slimline s3652uk spec

I am looking to buy a new small pc for downstairs.
I have seen http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...6325&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_UKEN and would like to know if this will run photoshop cs2 ok.

I have a pc at the moment which as this spec:

Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 8I915P Duo Pro
3.67 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 3.4 "overclocked apparently"
1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

My current pc does everything ok, it is just that my daughter is on it all the time.
Can anybody tell me if the Hp computer in the link will run at a similiar speed to the pc I have at the moment.
I use the pc for genral surfing the net and photoshop.
Burning discs.

The quad core thing is confusing me as the Hp as 1.8 quad and my single core is bigger so I cannot work out if the new one is slower or not.

Please help.

The new HP is definitely better as the processing method for the Phenom 9150e is completely different than the Pentium 4. Although the Phenom runs at a lower clock speed, its performance per clock is many many times that of the Pentium. Multiply that performance by 4 (four cores-just a very rough visualization) and you have a CPU that destroys the Pentium. There are also benefits of improved multitasking, increased power savings, and a computer that has much better RAM and graphics already included. That new computer would run circles around your old one.

I was under the impression that if I was running a program eg .Photoshop on my current system my 3.6 cpu would be running that along with all the other stuff it needs to do to run xp.

If I have read correctly on the new Hp machine it as 4 cores running each at 1.8 and only one would run photoshop and the others would be used for the other stuff,this is what confuses me as to times the cores by 4 "ok" but if only one is working each program I was thinking it may still be slower, also this new machine will be running Vista premium which I am lead to believe is big to run.

Sorry to ramble on but I just want to get my head around this.
I am really impressed with the size of this small pc and would like to buy one,only thing holding me back was the quad core thing.
Like I said my current pc does everything ok,so I would not like to buy something less powerful.

Yes, your PC will run any version of Photoshop without a hitch. I am curious in which version of Photoshop you will plan to run because earlier versions will only run on one core, but later versions are multithreaded and will use many cores if possible. Even if Photoshop runs on one core, the power of that one core is greater than the power of the Pentium. Also, remember that background applications such as antivirus can use other cores, thereby lightening the workload of the strained core.
