hp pavilion zd8000 upgrade ram from 1gb to 4gb

Solution
BEFORE YOU START: Purchase your new RAM. The RAM you need can be found here: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory-ddr2/ct2kit25664ac800

Once your RAM arrives follow the instructions below.

On the back of the laptop there is a panel with the RAM logo. Unscrew and remove the panel revealing the RAM. Remove the RAM currently in the laptop. WARNING: RAM IS VERY SENSITIVE TO STATIC. ONLY TOUCH THE SIDES OF THE STICK AND BE SURE TO TOUCH A METAL SURFACE BEFORE TOUCHING THE RAM. THIS DISCHARGES ALL STATIC FROM YOUR BODY. Carefully insert your new ram sticks into the laptop. Re-secure the panel and power on your laptop.

Hope this helps.

Have you gotten this upgrade to work? I currently have 2GB of RAM installed and according to the link that you listed Crucial is saying that this memory is not compatible with the zd8000. The memory that I currently have is PC-5300 which is what Crucial says works. Also, they are stating on their site that 2GB is the max, but it would be great if I could get it up to 4 and make this thing usable again.

Thank you for your help.
