hp pavillion desktop beeps once every 5 minutes and only hp screen populates. sometimes icons briefly display

computer will start but not maintain icons on screen (only hp screen stays up) it also produces a single beep approximately every 5 minutes. I have reconfigured, started in safe mode, no help. this is one and half year old hp pavilion.

HP screen as in the BIOS startup screen or the Windows background? Did you check with HP support?
