Hp pavillion dv9000 wont boot up

the hp power light comes on through ac adapter, but the laptop will not light up at all but the ac adapter plug in light is on, but it wont light up.

Either the AC adapter is shot, the laptop's powersupply is shot, or the motherboard is shot. Or, rarely, the RAM is shot.

What I'm getting at, is that laptops are difficult to troubleshoot online. Unlike desktops, you can't just swap parts with a friends/family member's computer. In this case, I suggest you take it to a repair place. Or, perhaps someone here with more expertise knows how to tackle a laptop that outright doesn't work.
