Hi, how are you all?
I was wondering whether anyone had any ideas about this. I bought two HP Pavillion f1703 LCD 17" monitors off a guy at work that he was upgrading from. Both for £30 Sterling each(about $50 or so?). He's a friend of mine, and I feel they are quite adequate monitors. One was for my girlfriend and one for me.
Before anyone assumes they suffer the famous "blackout" problem associated with this model, they do not suffer this as my friend re-soldered the overheat device at the back on both of them a few years ago when he bought them, being aware of the problem.
Strange thing is, although the one I took is perfect, my girlfriend's one shows some yellows and oranges way too bright. Yellows are almost gold, and they jump out at you. Apart from that her monitor is just fine. I believe they actually haven't been used that much either.
My friend at first said maybe it was the cable that goes from the monitor to the computer, so I swapped it out with mine but no difference. Also, it won't be the graphics card I assume because I've tried both monitors with both computers. Also I have mucked around with the colour settings but her one continues to be way over-enthusiastic, even at zero for all colour levels. Almost comical how bright the yellows are
Weird - I thought if they started going, colours became duller, not brighter?
Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
