This is not really meant to be here, but just for the sake of it. I picked up an HP Photosmart from the dump, and found out it had a problem with the black ink. I had used isopropyl alcohol on the printhead, and it WORKED! yes, since it wasn't used in forever it had ink smear problems, but thats the alcohol still in the head. Im running a ton of cleans, ink smear stuff and prints, and its clearing up. If this doesn't help, you can remove the head, possibly the head electronics and soak it in alcohol. This printer is great! Wireless Printer, Copier, Scanner, ePrint. Even Energy Star! and go figure, im low on ink already, when I bought it a few days ago.

Solution
downlaod the repair guild for the printer to help you. it may be full waste tank. or there slug under the print head guild. most time if there streaks/leaks there worn or missing o-rings on the print head Assembly.
