HP problems

Hello,
I recently did a F10 (factory restore) on my Presario SR1625NX. Since then, the PC has been unable to recognize the HP 2355 printer. I've attempted to reinstall BUT the wizard is unable to find the printer on the CD that came with the printer! I'd appreciate any help as when I've tried to contact HP, they want me to call and pay them $$ (perhaps that's why they suggested the F10).

Did you connect the USB cable and power on the printer before driver installer told you to?

No, followed the CD as I did the first time I installed the printer. Since it didn't work and I ran out of ideas to try, I just gave up until the power cord came loose. When I reconnected, the PC recognized the printer BUT it won't print. In fact, I can que in 3 print jobs, nothing gets printed, but it will show 0 print jobs after a while.

Is the printer set for Offline?

No, should it be?

No, it shouldn't, but that is a common problem that occurs when you try to print when the printer if off. Windows assumes the printer is not connected right now and sets it to offline so that print jobs are stored on the hard drive until you connect the printer.

Would you have any suggestions as to what I could try -- even if it's starting over (though I certainly don't want to do another F10!)
