It could previous detect the 2.5 GHz network but now it cannot. Every other device in the home can detect it just fine so it has to be an issue with the PC itself. I tried clearing all the known network listing of the SSID but that hasn't gotten it to appear. It can detect other networks that are in the vicinity but cannot find the one for my home router/WAP

The laptop is running Windows 10

Darn Windows keeps thinking it's smarter than we are!

Try this:
  1. Type settings in the search bar and hit enter.
  2. Select Network & Internet.
  3. Select WiFi from the left bar.
  4. Select Manage Known Networks (top middle)
  5. Click Add New Network
  6. Type in the name of your network, select the security (probably WEP2-personal), and type in your network password.
  7. Check Connect Automatically and hit save

You should be able to connect now.
