So I can pick up the server above for about $150. Dual Xeon E5506 with 4x4gb DDR3. Want to run a SSD for the OS and then fill the rest of the bays with 1TB drives. will be used to store pictures from IP cameras using Blue Iris.
Instead of dropping $500 or more on a Windows server license I figured I would install a copy of windows 7 pro x64. This is where I run into trouble, Ive tried google but the only thing that comes up is HP's forums and a lot of the post just end with HP employees saying no you cant install win7 on the server.
The most ive found is if windows 7 installs to use the 2008 drivers to get everything to work. Im hoping someone in Tomshardware land has done this and has any advice to get win7 to load and work correctly.
