HP Proliant ML370 G3 only boots from one DVD

I can only can get the server to boot from the supplied HP smartstart disk. I have tried nas4free, openmediavault, and windows 10 pro. I want to get openmediavault installed. When I try any disk other than the smartstart disk the bios just goes right past the disk drive. It just asks for a valid boot medium.


I am very new to the server world. The server was given to me by my boss who is the Network Admin so that I could grow my interest in this area.

The server is as far as I know 32-bit only.

2x Intel Xeon Processor 3.06 GHz/533 MHz
4Gb of ram
2x 36Gb 15k in RAID 1
2x ~72Gb 10k in RAID 1
2x 146Gb 10k in RAID 1

If you google "ML370 G3 linux install" there are various threads. That hardware is so old, most new OS versions have problems.

It wont boot from any disk other than smartstart as of now.

Even with DVD-ROM installed it still only booted from a CD
