I have a HP System

Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 4300G (Renoir) 3.8 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.0 GHz maximum boost clock, 4 MB L3 cache, and 4 cores and 8 threads 65 W

Motherboard: HP name: Erica5, SSID: 87D7 Form factor Customized: 29.09 x 20.3 cm (11.45 x 7.99 in) Chipset B550A

I want to upgrade the processor to AMD Ryzen 7. HP states that I can do this with the:
AMD Ryzen 7 4700G (Renoir) 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.4 GHz maximum boost clock, 8 MB L3 cache, and 8 cores
65 W

Since this is OEM can I use a different AMD Ryzen 7 that I find on the market such as:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor that's listed on Amazon

Thanks,

Thanks,
Check the HP support web site for supported upgrades into that system. Trust me, it's an exercise in frustration when you don't. They have a habit of locking you out of an upgrade path you might think should work by the specs and platform; or at the very least making it extremely difficult.
